Visiting my old two freinds

I use to worked for Shelley Langston and George deVincent, Photography studio in Georgetown D.C. and worked 15 years as a darkroom tech in the 80s and 90s. I had lunch with George to catch up the news. I just realize that I met George and Shelley 31 years ago. I just graduated from high school, Summer of 78 and started apprenticeship the whole summer before I start in the Fall, first year in College. The photo on the right, as you notice if you see the fake townhouse inside his home in Washington D.C. It came from Arena Stage sets . It took 5 or 6 guys that I was one of the them, helped to put the four pieces together and then push right up against the wall, "man that was heavy as hell". What's cool about that George made the idea tore up the second room floor and create the first floor 15 or 20 foot hight ceiling.

What a nice surprise to stumble upon you online. Yes, building the house-within-a-house is quite a memory.
Let's have lunch.

Hey, Kevin and Pat! Just caught this link and found you two! It's a regular deVincent reunion in here. (Par worked for Langston/deVincent for many years. I worked for them in the late 70's.

I have wonderful memories of working there. Some include both of you!

Got room for another for lunch?

I wonder who "Anonymous" is?

Oops- I should have reviewed that before I posted it. This is Bess, the crazywoman from the darkroom.

Maybe we should scrape up some other Contemporary Design people and make a party out of it.

Hi, I'm Shelley Langston's second cousin. My name is James Gallegos. I would like to contact her. Do you happen to have a contact number for her or an email address? I would greatly appreciate it. My phone number is 480-529-1364 and my email address is vvsjgal@cox.net. Thanks

I too worked for George deVincent and Shelley in their studio when it was near the Sheraton and Shoreham hotels. It's been too long now for me to remember the address. It was right off Connecticut Avenue (Constitution Avenue maybe?) I met George when I worked at the Little Tavern shop on Connecticut Avenue, which I think was torn down for the subway. He used to come in for coffee. Anyway, great to see George is still alive and well. He had a rat for a pet back then (this was 1970 - 1971.)

Howdy. Looking for photos of George's bathroom. I know that it was featured on the cover of the Washington Post Sunday magazine at some point in the 1970s. Does anyone have any photos of it they could post here?

OK I was young foolish and wet behind the ears. Georges German Shepard and rat kept them that way.

Bess I remember you. You where the crazy woman who used to work in the darkroom. But when I was there it was Marty AKA Martha.

George came up in conversation and wow I did a search and saw a photo of George.

Thanks Kevin.
